25 years of heritage

Vinegrowers at heart and soul, our journey is deeply intertwined with the land and tradition of Crete. Since our early steps 24 years ago in the historic PDO Peza wine region, specifically in the village of Kounavoi, Manolis Garakis laid the foundations of our traditional distillery, grounded in a profound knowledge and love for the land and the vineyards. Our decision to adopt certified organic farming methods was no coincidence. From the beginning, we focused on protecting the environment and cultivating native varieties that are an integral part of our region's wine identity.

After two decades of meticulous trials and exploration in the world of winemaking, we established our winery in 2021. This step was a natural extension of our passion for viticulture and our longstanding relationship with the vineyard. In 2022, our first bottling under the name "LAGADA" marked the start of a new chapter. The name "LAGADA" was chosen intentionally, as it refers to the area where most of our vineyard is located—a region renowned for its favorable conditions for cultivating native varieties.

The year 2023 saw us advancing dynamically, presenting three new labels from different vineyards, each with its own unique character and personality. Each bottle reflects our philosophy: respect for the land, tradition, and the authentic flavors of Crete. Looking toward the future, we continue to experiment and evolve, always dedicated to crafting quality wines that express the unique essence of our land.
